Kazantip Republik: An event in in Ukraine
KaZantip is not a festival it is a Republik: this event of electro music takes place within 4 weeks on the shore of the Black Sea in Ukraine, it is all-day long, and it unites more than 150000 people.
In the year 2011 Kazantip will open from July, 31 to August, 22
Kazantip is the most awaited event for so-called «golden youth» of Russia, Ukraine and other countries of former Soviet Union, who imagine it to be the perfect means of freeing themselves from the daily routine. Sea, sex and sun: that is the perfect cocktail to have nice vacation. Kazantip is not a dream, this is reality!
To get to Kazantip, it is open for everyone, and also for foreigners. Russians and Ukrainians (both guys and girls) adore foreigners! That’s why each year hundreds of people from France, Belgium, Sweden and Germany come in Kazantip Republik, and they never leave disappointed.

Kazantip Republik in details
Kazantip is an exceptional territory of a 1000 metres magnificent beach by the shore of the Black Sea at a Crimean peninsula of Ukraine. At Kazantip, there are about a dozen of dancefloors of various spectacular decorations, more than a dozen of bars and lounges, and a few restaurants.
The beaches of the Black sea are large, clear and sunny. The sea is also clean, clear and not very salty.
Kazantip is the open-air holiday that lasts 24/24, all the day and night long, from the end of July to the end of August (Kazantip 2011 dates are from July, 31 to August, 23). To go to Kazantip means to live in the rhythm of the holiday, to go to sleep either early in the morning or late in the evening, to be either an adept of visiting the beach and getting a suntan during a day, or dance in the night as a classical clubber, or enjoy both of this, if your health allows you…
Kazantip is a paradise for those who love parties, for clubbers, for those who just enjoy their life. If you think about going to Kazantip – don’t be afraid to make a first step. No one regrets on spending his vacation at Kazantip. To come to Kazantip once – it’s only the beginning of an adventure that you will repeat again and again; because if you’ve been there, it means that you already know where you go for your next summer vacation (many people come back every year because of the unique atmosphere of Kazantip).
Here you will meet people who went to Ibiza but now they don’t want anything but Kazantip. Kazantip has the soul of Ibiza’s first year but with its own philosophy is that of a «true holiday», and not a factory of clubbers!
Kazantip Republik it is more than 150 000 youngsters, most of whom are between 18 and 30 years old, 90% are from Ukraine and Russia and about 10% come from the other countries not only of Europe but of the whole world. Remember that the pass and transport cost the same price, that your staying here, so we recommend you to stay about 10 or 15 days to make your vacation cost effective. Life here is very intensive.

A typical day at Kazantip
One should distinguish the day (11 a.m. – 8 p.m.), the «beginning of the evening» (8 p.m. – 11 p.m.) and the night (11 p. m. – 11 a.m. in the morning)
During the day, it is a great beach party at Kazantip: the beach is about 300 meters long and there are numerous dancefloors and bars, each with its own decoration and music. So, you can either get a suntan on a beach or dance. The spirit of global music reigns at Kazantip. You will hear it while you are having fun on the beach.
On the beach (or even in the sea!) you can dance or simply relax, watching beautiful girls (very often they wear nothing but strings, topless…)! Nothing prevents you from approaching them, on the contrary it is recommended to have a good vacation. You will see that to get nothing but silence is not typical for Kazantip. The most beautiful girls and guys as well are hyper-accessible and open for a conversation (that seems astonishing to you? you’ll see that it’s possible to live another way than in large European cities!). The rest depends on you and the game of seduction and cultural exchange begins…
During the day, if you want to quietly get some rest far away from the territory– you can do it easily because there are kilometres of beach, that is not Kazantip. The Black Sea is very clear and not very salty. What a piece of cake!
The day ends with dusk, and there is a celebration of it on the bridge of Kazantip. Everybody sit there, watch the dusk and applaud. This is a very romantic moment to share with your partner...
Beginning of the evening: between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., a lot of people rest at their houses to have ability to dance all night long! So during these hoursKazantipl reduces its activity. Anyway, you’ll be able to relax or to drink a glass in a festive musical ambiance. The holiday never stops at Kazantip!
The night at Kazantip (11 p.m. till 11 a.m.): the Beach party in the night! Many open-air dance floors, various outfits, various music (most of the time it is minimal techno or trance, but it is easily opened for house). And it lasts all night long. Each person or a group of people walks from one dance floor to another; these travels outside the dance floors give them a permanent show of many eccentric keepings carried by some Kazantip Cityzen.
The main peak of insanity is between midnight and 2 a. m. Only a small fraction of people can dance all night without having some rest. Maybe you’ll be able to become a local hero… As the night party finishes another day party begins. The infernal rhythm of the Holiday!

The "Republic" of Kazantip: another world!
Kazantip, is not a festival, it is a «Republic»: almost an isolated part of the world with its own philosophy, government, even its own calendar…. Become a “citizen” of Kazantip by getting your pass to the Kazantip REPUBLIK. You will fast learn the rules of this heavenly Republic: it will be enough to learn how to make a Holiday!
The place of Kazantip, the very centre of the Kazantip Territory, has only one entrance and exit. It would be almost possible to speak about borders with the rest of the world. The «Republic» of Kazantip has its own president (Nikita), its eccentric government (minister of music, minister of happiness, minister of dance…). At Kazantip the obligation of the government is to make sure that all possessors of Vizas have a good time. What is the motto of Kazantip? « S C H A S T I E » (pronounce "shchastie"): be happy and amuse yourself! You’ll very often here this word!
Very important point: the beauty of the girls! Opinions are quite the same: Russians, Ukrainians and Byelorussians … are the most beautiful in the world; you do not trust us? Then ask those who already been here. They sometimes wonder if a big model-agency secretly infiltrated the Republik. They are very impressive! Important events and DJ’s of Kazantip
Ceremonies of opening and closing of Kazantip
The ceremonies of opening and closing of Kazantip are incredible: there are a lot of people. These are the ultimate event of the Republik. And also the DJ program for such case is exceptional. For example Kazantip 2009 edition Paul Van Dyk made the opening evening and Armin Van Buuren made the closing evening! An unforgettable experience on the dance floor!
About 50 000 clubbers reunite for each of these spectacular ceremonies.

The evening of the opening 2011 will take place on July, 31. The closing evening will be on August, 22.
What is the DJ program of Kazantip 2011?
The DJ’s program is always known rather late. In general it reunites 3 international stars of minimal /Trance (like Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Sven Vath....) which mix for the evenings of the opening and closing of the Kazantip. And for the rest of the time the dance floors are animated by famous DJs of the Eastern Europe, but sometimes they are unknown in other countries.

The folklore of Kazantip Republik
What means "Z" at Kazantip?
Z is simply an abbreviation of Kazantip: each edition of Kazantip is named by Z + the number of a new edition. This year for example its name will be Z 18 because this will be the 18th year when the takes place. The name Z18 will be also written in your pass
The yellow suitcase at Kazantip
All the people whom you’ll see in Kazantip territory with a yellow suitcase are those who got their pass for free. What is necessary: just to come with a yellow suitcase preliminary registered and always have it with you (that’s rather special on a dance floor…)
Its aim: to create the opportunity for participation in the holiday for those who don’t have financial means to come because of the price of pass (don’t forget that the price of the pass equals the average Ukrainian salary for the month). That’s also a part of the spirit of Kazantip Republik.
Where this tradition of yellow suitcase came from?
It comes from an old Russian fairy-tale in which a doctor offers children some candies from the yellow suitcase and makes them feel happy. So this is rather symbolic for Kazantip’s spirit of happiness, joy and generosity.
What is the wedding at Kazantip?
Every Thursday in Kazantip , people with a vizza can marry in the republic of Kazantip: the wedding ceremony takes place on the beach under the sun and attracts a lot of people.
All brides of Kazantip are dressed in nice wedding dresses rather unusual and often made/sewed by the brides.
The ceremony is very spectacular and rather odd. This is also the spirit of Kazantip. We invite you to try this for one time minimum in your life.
The freak parade of Kazantip
The freak parade takes place once a week at Kazantip. This parade is comparable to the Love Parade in Europe, but usually with fewer people!
Every person who is dressed strangely can become a part of this freak parade, and it’s very amusing to see.
The New Year holiday at Kazantip
You’ve got a habit of celebrating the New Year on December, 31? This is hardly a tradition for Kazantip and its particular calendar. Every year on July, 31 Kazantip celebrates the New Year in its own manner. The New Year songs and a countdown for the beginning of the next year. Then everybody applauds and drinks champagne (we mean cider … for 3 Euros). And what can be better for the nice beginning of the year than to join to the dance floor for wiggling your hips with rhythms of techno?
Mars at Kazantip (the VIP-party)
In Kazantip there is an special zone named Mars. You can talk about it as a space VIP, but you can’t compare it with VIP in the night. Extraterrestrial engines and curious iron creatures: and you have an unusual landscape of Mars at Kazantip (check photos). Usually, there is no possibility to get to Mars, kind of zone VIP of the Republik where party kite surfers, Russian millionaires, and some privileged clubbers. But with a certain skills of persuasion it is possible from time to time to get access to this very private world of Mars

History of Kazantip Republik
Kazantip in its first version was created in 1992: this was the annual competition of surfing, enclosed to a grand holiday. In a certain time there came more and more people and Kazantip began to become longer. Nowadays Kazantip is open more than a month! and is the greatest event of electro, trance and house music of the world!
Various incorrect namings of Kazantip !
Some people write Kasantip: attention! Kasantip with s – it’s not good, one must use Z, this justifies the name Z18! Don’t forget about it and never ever write Kasantip
Some people write Kazantyp: but why to write «y» at Kazantip, if the original name contains letter i? Some certainly think that it makes the word more «Russian». But don’t make such mistake: don’t write Kazantyp, prefer Kazantip!
Some people write Kasantyp: there is a double mistake! To put «s» and «y» at Kasantyp, where must be z and i, this deserves the correction. Come and see us at Kazantip (and not at Kasantyp) and you’ll be pardoned for everything!
Some people are even worse, they write Casantip or Casantyp: this orthography is really bad: letters «c», «s», «y», what a catastrophe! Correct it immediately and never again write Casantip or Casantyp!!! Kadzantyp or Kadzantip, or Kadsantip or Kadsantyp are also a big orthographical mistake…
If you don’t have a sense of orthography, it is not very serious. Because you can still have the sense of the holiday. Forget these trivial questions and book immediately your personal vacation at Kazantip!
